The challenge

A forge floor is one of the hardest places to shoot: dark, hot, fast and loud. The only light comes from the fire.

We moved between the stations to catch smiths mid-strike, the glow of metal coming out of the fire and the teams working it together.

A set of photos that capture the heat, the sparks and the skill of the competition.
